The Poviat Health Centre in Kowary, a Non-public Health Care Facility, joined the EMC Instytut Medyczny SA in January 2009. The company is comprised of three organisational units:
Bukowiec Hospital is housed in the historic interiors of a former sanatorium from 1917 surrounded by a beautiful park of beech trees and in the vicinity of the picturesque Karkonosze mountain range.
The hospital is home to an admissions area, eight residential treatment wards with a total of 212 beds, operating blocks, an endoscopic laboratory, a pharmacy, diagnostic laboratories and rehabilitation facilities.
The Nursing and Treatment Centre and residential Hospice, which are located in a magnificent building with a garden, guarantee their patients a warm, family atmosphere alongside professional medical care.
The Outpatient Clinic is the largest in the city and takes care of over 8,500 inhabitants. It provides primary health care services as well as medical advice in the following specialist areas:
general surgery, lung diseases, dermatology, diabetology, gynaecology and obstetrics, laryngology, neurology, orthopaedics, rehabilitation and mental health.
Currently, the hospital's historic building is undergoing renovation in order to improve the quality of patient care.
